How It Works
Booking a Course
The website and booking system has been designed to make it as easy as possible for students and purchasers to use.
Payments
You may pay online, in Sterling, USD, or Euros, by credit or debit card, or later by cheque or BACS. Either way you can print out an invoice, as either an individual or as a business.
Charges
To complete a training course a fee is payable, the fees are displayed in each course accordingly. A discount is available for the purchase of multiple courses. For further information please call our sales team on 0208 3270174 (from within the UK) or +44 (0)20 8327 0174 (from outside the UK).
Personal Booking
If you are making a booking for yourself only, first choose on the Home Page the course you wish to take, and select the link.
On the course page go to, 'Register'. Chose 'register as a private student who will pay for your own course'. Enter the details requested. You must enter your name as you wish it to be printed on your certificate, and a login name and password of your choice. As soon as you register you will receive by e-mail confirmation of your chosen login name and password.
Choose your method of payment. You can pay immediately online by credit or debit card, or you can chose to pay by cheque or BACS.
If you pay immediately online you will receive confirmation of payment by email from Sage Pay (the secure payment gateway) and the system will take you directly to your own home page where you can 'begin training' right away. (See 'Taking the Course' below).
If you choose to pay by cheque or BACS the system will allow you to 'begin training' only when payment is cleared. You will receive confirmation from us by e-mail as soon as we receive your payment. You can then LOGIN on the site home page and 'begin training' (See 'Taking the Course' below).
Sponsor Booking
If you are making a booking on behalf of another, or others, i.e. you are an administrator, proprietor or representative of an organisation wishing to book one or more students, start by following a link to one of the courses (at this stage it does not matter which course you choose). Select 'register' then choose the option 'someone who will be booking courses on behalf of others'.
'Register' by entering the details requested. As soon as you register you will receive by e-mail confirmation of your chosen login name and password.
Choose 'Purchase Codes' and enter the number of courses you wish to buy and the method of payment. We do not need details of the students at this stage.
You can pay immediately by credit or debit card, or you can chose to pay by cheque or BACS.
If you pay by credit or debit card you will receive confirmation of payment from Sage Pay (the secure payment gateway) and you will be able to enter student's names immediately.
If you choose to pay by cheque or BACS the system will allow you to enter student's names only when payment has been received. You will receive confirmation from us by e-mail as soon as we receive your payment. You will also receive your payment confirmation immediately if you are a listed credit customer of CD Media Training Ltd.
You can then login and enter student names. For each name you enter we will send to the student (or to you, you choose the e-mail address), a Student Access Code. The student will need this code when logging in for the first time.
You can allocate as many students at a time as you wish up to the total number of courses you have purchased. The system keeps a tally of the number of purchased courses allocated to students so you will always know how many remain available to allocate.
When you allocate a student to a course we send a Student Access Code for each student to the e-mail address you provide us. This can either be your address or the student's.
You will have your own admin area that you can enter at any time by logging in with your login code.
In your admin area you can allocate students to courses, monitor the progress of the students you have entered, see how many courses are still available for allocation, and you can buy further courses when required.
If, as a sponsor, you are also going to be a student, just allocate yourself as you would another student but when you register as a student use a different login name and password, not the one you use as a sponsor.
Taking the Course - Personal Student.
If you have booked and paid for yourself online you are taken directly to your own 'home page' where you will find a menu and your details. From the menu you can choose to 'Begin Training'. You are then taken to a menu showing the course modules and also buttons for 'Start Here' where you will find information about the course; the 'Glossary' where you can find a list of Dangerous Goods terminology; and the 'Final Exam', which you will have to complete and pass to print out your certificate. (You have two chances to take and pass the exam)
Start the course with Module1, and follow with the other modules in your own pace. You can stop any module at any time, and can repeat any module as often as you like before taking the final exam. Each module ends with some questions to test understanding. These questions are taken at random from the same question bank as the final exam but do not count towards your final exam.
You may leave the course at any time by logging out, and you can return at any time by logging in again with the login name and password you have chosen, resuming from where you left off or starting again from the beginning.
After completing all the modules, as often as you wish, you must take the 'final exam', which you have to pass to receive your certificate. All questions are randomly selected by the system from a multi choice question bank.
If you do not pass the exam first time you may retake it one more time only, so please take the time to go through the modules again as often as you need before taking it again.
Taking the Course - Sponsored Student
If you are a sponsored student (i.e. you have been nominated for the course by someone else) you will receive a notification, either directly from us by e-mail, or by an agreed means from your sponsor. This notification will contain your Student Access Code. Go to 'Login' on the Home Page and then chose 'Register'. Then choose –
'As a Sponsored Student who has been nominated for a course by someone else and you have been given a STUDENT ACCESS CODE'.
This will take you to the Student Registration page. Enter the required details. You must enter your name, as it will appear on your certificate, and a login name and password of your choice.
You are taken to the 'payment' page, and here you choose the 'sponsored student' option and enter your Student Access Code. (This is the only time you enter the student access code, as it is your form of payment. When you login in the future you will use the login name and password you have chosen).
You are then taken directly to your own 'home page' where you will find a menu and your details. From the menu you can choose to 'Begin Training'. You are then taken to a menu showing the five course modules and also buttons for 'Start Here' where you will find information about the course; the 'Glossary' where you can find a list of Dangerous Goods terminology; and the 'Final Exam', which you will have to complete and pass to print out your certificate. (You have two chances to take and pass the exam)

When you login for the second and any subsequent time use the direct 'Registered Student' login and the login name and password you have chosen.

Your Certificate
When you pass the test you may print off your certificate. Make sure your printer is on line and loaded with suitable paper before you press the 'print' button. If you do not have a printer your sponsor will be able to print a copy from their admin system.
