Dangerous Goods by Air, Staff Category Specific Courses
Course 3 |
Dangerous Goods by Air for Passenger Handling Staff and Security Screeners (ICAO/IATA Categories 9 and 12) |
Online Dangerous Goods by Air course designed to meet the training requirements in law of all passenger handling staff, (staff category 9 as defined in the ICAO Technical Instructions), and security screening staff, (staff category 12 in the ICAO Technical Instructions).
The course takes approximately one hour from log in to printing a certificate. It provides the mandatory overview of the subject so that staff can identify which items classed as dangerous goods are accepted or prohibited for carriage by passengers or in their baggage, and to help identify items that may be out of place or not properly declared.
This course is accepted by the UK Civil Aviation Authority as meeting the requirements for this training.
| Module 1 | Introduction |
| Module 2 | General Philosophy |
| Module 3 | Limitations and Recognition of Undeclared Dangerous Goods |
| Module 4 | Provisions for Passengers and Crew |
| Module 5 | Classification |
| Module 6 | Labelling, Marking, Documentation, NOTOC. |
| Module 7 | Storage, Loading, and Emergency Procedures |
At the end of the course, there is a multiple choice test which has to be taken in order to receive your certificate. The test is ‘open book’, i.e. you can refer back to the training modules during the test. The certificate is valid for 2 years (ICAO/IATA regulation) and must be revalidated before the expiry date if the staff member requires a certificate beyond the expiry date.
